Body-Solid

The Body-Solid GPR400 Power Rack is a heavy-duty power rack engineered to fit home gyms, garage gyms, commercial strength training facilities, and sports team weight rooms — without forcing buyers to choose between footprint and capability. Built from 11-gauge steel with oversized industrial-strength hardware, the GPR400 stands just under 80" tall and offers a wide walk-in design with 1" hole spacing for the safeties and J-cups.

What's Included

  • Pipe & pin safeties
  • J-cup liftoffs
  • Integrated 1¼" pull-up bar

Key Features and Benefits

The 11-gauge steel frame with oversized industrial-strength hardware is the structural foundation of the GPR400. Most consumer power racks use 12- or 14-gauge steel, which limits the rated capacity and the long-term durability under heavy loading. The GPR400's 11-gauge construction supports a 1,000 lb weight capacity — enough headroom for elite-level loading without overbuilding the rack into a footprint that won't fit in a basement or garage.

The just-under-80" height is a deliberate design decision that fits standard home, garage, and basement ceilings where most full-height commercial racks won't clear. The wide walk-in design gives users meaningful space for squats, lunges, rack pulls, and deadlifts inside the rack — and the integrated 1¼" (32mm) pull-up bar adds pull-ups, chin-ups, leg lifts, and oblique twists without requiring a separate pull-up station.

The GPR400 ships standard with pipe & pin safeties and J-cup liftoffs covering the fundamental power-rack needs. From there, an extensive attachment ecosystem lets users tailor the rack to their training: the GLA400 lat attachment, SPRCUA multi-chin, GPRDH dip handles, GPRTBR T-bar row, GPRUL U-link, SPRBP band pegs, and GPRWH weight horn are all designed specifically for the GPR400 frame.

Assembly Time

Approximately 60–90 minutes with two people. Plan for additional time if working alone.

Defective or Damaged

Can I bolt this to the floor?

Yes. The base plates have pre-drilled holes for floor anchoring. Concrete anchors are not included — most users use 1/2" wedge anchors for concrete or lag bolts for wood platforms.

What weight plates fit?

Standard 2" Olympic plates (cast iron, bumper, or competition style) fit on the optional plate storage horns. The rack itself accepts any 7' Olympic barbell.

Can I add a lat attachment later?

Yes. The GLA400 Power Rack Lat Attachment is fully compatible and can be added at any time. It's a tower-style attachment that mounts to the back of the rack and adds a high pulldown plus low row station.

Will this fit in a garage with a 7-foot ceiling?

The rack stands 82" tall (6'10"), so it fits under a 7-foot ceiling — but you'll have minimal clearance for pull-ups. We recommend at least 7'2" ceiling height for comfortable overhead work.

Are J-hooks and safety bars included?

Yes. A pair of J-hooks and a pair of safety bars ship with the rack as standard.

How is this delivered?

Ships LTL freight with curbside delivery. The rack is heavy (multiple boxes, ~250 lbs total) — plan for two people to receive and move it indoors. Lift gate service is available for $50 if you don't have a forklift on site.

Is this rated for commercial use?

The GPR400 is built for serious home use and is also rated for light commercial use (personal training studios, small private gyms). For high-traffic commercial facilities, see the SPR1000 Pro Clubline series.
